My Favorite Form of Relaxation

Lately I’ve been spending all of my time swimming at the pool at Parc Esta. I used to be the kind of person who would go to the gym on a regular basis and run around, but swimming is such a better form of exercise for me now. It lets me exercise pretty much all of my muscle groups, get cardio done, and keep my body cool during the entire process. It’s also easier on the joints that running. When I’m sitting at work, I can’t wait for the end of the work day so I can just go to the pool and swim around for a while.

It’s funny that I like to swim around at the complex so much, considering that when I was a kid, I didn’t know how to swim at all.

My parents never took me to the pool, so I never learned like most of the other kids. When I finally learned, I was an adult, and I felt a little silly learning how to swim at that age, but once I learned how to do it, I was glad that I finally learned, because I could go to any pool and just have fun without worrying about anything happening.

 

I think my favorite stroke is the backstroke, because when I’m sitting in the pool, I can just look up at the sky and slowly make my way around the water. There is one thing that I wish I could do in the pool. I’ve always seen the swimmers in the Olympics doing a butterfly move when they want to move through the water quickly, and I could never really get the hang of that. I have all the time in the world to perfect it while swimming at the pool in Parc Esta.
